Description
Emergency exit push bars (panic bars) are susceptible to a simple but effective attack with a drill and a wire to activate the push bar and gain entry to the building. To stop this attack and still allow full use of the emergency exit panic bar, these guards protect your door in 3 ways:
- Added thickness of steel required to drill through
- Angled surface making it almost impossible to drill through
- Physical barrier preventing activation of the push bar with a bent wire
Push bar guards are just one more tool to help keep your building secure. We also make guards for door knob, lever handles, and deadbolts – as well as many other security upgrades for your doors.
The 24″ length of these guards is adequate to protect 99% of panic bars. We can also custom fabricate different lengths if needed.

Installation
Guards have pre-drilled mounting holes. Line up the position of each guard over and under your push bar and attach to steel door using self-tapping screws. You can also use carriage bolts to through-bolt the guards through the entire door.
