Area drains are often subject to having the covers stolen by metal thieves. Especially if they are brass, but even when they are steel. The theft results in creating a tripping hazard, and also allows large pieces of debris to go down the drain causing blockages. In addition, some of these drain covers are no longer manufactured making replacement covers difficult to find.
To combat these problems, we make custom sized drain covers out of alupanel. This material is made with thin aluminum skins over a plastic core, so it has no resale value and offers no incentive to metal thieves.
Alupanel drain covers are suitable for foot traffic areas of your property and are custom built to fit using 1/8″ or 1/4″ thick stock.

Measurements and Fitting
Using an existing cover or the drain housing;
- Measure the length and width for square covers, or the diameter for round covers
- Measure the thickness or depth
- Measure from the edge of the cover to the center of the screw holes, and note their location
Installation
As with any drain cover, simply screw down onto the body or housing using the appropriate machine screws.
