Description
This heavy duty commercial door stop (elephant foot type) is commonly used as a hold open for doors in commercial buildings or residential strata buildings. It is useful on doors for garbage rooms, service entrances and exits, common area washrooms, utility rooms, and storage rooms.
The backplate version includes the door stop and a heavy duty back plate. The backplate allows the stop to be mounted to a thicker plate than doors are generally made of, making it more secure. The plate is then mounted to the door using 8 screws instead of 4, making the overall installation more solid and secure than without the backing plate.
The backing plate version is especially handy for doors that get a lot of hard use such as garbage room doors. It’s also a good option for doors that have had the door stop come loose several times, allowing a new one to be mounted with new screws in new positions – also covering up any damage caused by previous door stop installations.
