High security cylinders embedded within concrete walls outside a building are much more secure. These keyboxes use tamperproof high security keys such as Abloy or Mul-t-lock that cannot be duplicated without authorization.

These embedded keyboxes are the standard used by fire departments and emergency services. Keys to your building are stored in the lockbox and they have their own high security lock cylinders for access during an emergency.

We also fill out the necessary permit paperwork as required by the city, and provide your keys to emergency services to place in the vault with their high security lock.

These keyboxes can also be used for trades’ access, where multiple boxes at multiple sites can be accessed with a single trade’s key, but each building has its own separate keyset. Some utility companies that may need access to a utility room inside your locked building also use these types of keyboxes.

  • 2.5″ or 3″ diameter cylinders can hold access cards as well as keys

Installation

These keyboxes for emergency services use must be keyed at the factory for the specific municipality where it is being installed. These products are supplied and installed by us throughout the Vancouver Lower Mainland.

  1. We recommend and can x-ray/scan the concrete wall where the lockbox is to be installed to ensure there are no electrical or plumbing lines in the concrete before coring.
  2. A concrete wall or pony wall is cored out for either 1.5″,  2.5″ and 3″ cylinder. The depth required is 6″ for a 1.5″ cylinder, and 7″ for a 2.5″ cylinder, 8″for 3″ cylinder.
  3. The cylinder is epoxied into the core with anchor pins
  4. For private keyboxes, we can provide you with a locking cap and any number of high security Abloy keys you can hand out to your tradespeople, or …
  5. For emergency services keyboxes, you can provide your municipal fire department with keys/access card for your building and once the cylinder body is installed, they will meet you onsite to lock them up with their proprietary cap. Only they have access to the lockbox and the keys for your building once they are in the keybox.
