Description
Protective pads protect your wood, drywall, stainless steel, and other finishes decorative wall finishes during construction, renovations, or short term repair work is being done. Cargo can be heavy, oddly shaped, and awkward to handle, and it’s very easy to accidentally hit an elevators wall. It is more cost effective to put protector pads in your elevator early on before you sustain interior damage to your elevators walls. They are most often used in your elevators, but can also be used in lobbies, or any other walls in your building that require protection.
These pads can also be used wherever durable padding is needed – some examples are car trunk liners, beach blankets, floor coverings, and dog mats. They are:
- Odor resistant
- Water and mildew proof – pads won’t absorb water
- Fire retardant in accordance with current codes for car enclosures, enclosure linings, and floor coverings.
Elevator Pad Sizes Available
All wall pads are custom fitted to fit your elevator or wall space. Two common sizes for a set of elevator pads are:
- For 8 ft. high cabs: 2 pads 56″ wide x 87″ high, 1 pad 80″ wide x 87″ high
- For 9 ft. high cabs: 2 pads 56″ wide x 99″ high, 1 pad 80″ wide x 99″ high
Custom sizing is also available for each wall of the elevator or wall space you want to protect.
Elevator Pad Colours
Elevator pads have a black border made of heavy duty nylon webbing, with stitching reinforced Velcro border for attachment to Velcro hanging tabs. Colors for the main body fabric to choose from are:
- Forest Green
- Royal Blue
- Silver Gray
- Dark Slate Gray
- Midnight Black
- Burgundy
Installation:
Your elevator may already have wall studs installed. If not, our technician will determine placement and spacing of the wall studs during final measurement.
You can provide us with measurements and photos for fabrication, but it may be important for us to perform a site visit when cut out windows in the padding are needed, or when new studs need to be installed.
Once the studs are installed and the pads made, they are easily put up and removed as needed using heavy duty Velcro tabs hung from the studs and a 4″ Velcro backing on the pads themselves. This system allows easy install and adjustment, as well as quick tear-down for storage.
